Sol & Grand was started in 2019 out of passion, and a dream. Owner/founder Taylor has always been somewhat of a photofile with an affinity for sunsets. A true romantic, she created Sol & Grand as a place to celebrate authenticity, raw emotion, the beauty to be found within the mundane, and the adventure of falling in love. At Sol & Grand we honour truth and tell real stories.

what's in a name
SOL
Sól is the the Norse Goddess of the sun. The daughter of Mundilfari, she was said to be beautiful, strong, and brave. Legend says she is responsible for the sunset, and in her chariot every night she drags the sun across the heavens. Sól is the personification of the sun, and an icon of female empowerment; the two outmost things that govern Sol & Grand, reflected in everything we do.

Meet Taylor
"Sol & Grand is a place for creatives, mavericks, and dreamers. It's the place where raw emotion speaks through stills, and stories are expressed authentically. I thrive on new experiences and challenges, but I also crave the comfort of home, my daughter, and loved ones. That is how Sol & Grand came to be, it's an extension of myself, and a celebration of all I am grateful for in this life.
For me, photography is an expression of love. It is how I see the world, how I explain it. I see more clearly through the glass of my lens. It allows me to understand people, to feel their emotion, and to tell their story, and it's a great privilege to do so; to document your milestones, and earnestly preserve your memories.
