First of all, congratulations! We love engagement sessions, because we there is nothing like capturing the love and excitement between you and your fiancé. The way we work is pretty straight forward, we meet, gush over the ring, you leave the phones in the car, and relax, because your only job as the couple is to enjoy the time away from wedding planning, focus on each other, and be in the moment. We practice activity-led posing, which means we use prompts & games that get you guys interacting with each other in a way that feels natural. This allows you both to really connect and enjoy each other's company, thus allowing us to capture your love authentically.

Family is extremely important to us, and we know that the way to truly capture a family in a photograph you have to capture the love. That's why we utilize games, activities and prompts to get you all interacting so we can capture the real emotion between your loved ones, and don't worry, I have different activities for every age group.

We like to start with group shots and posed shots first, especially if you have younger children in your clan, because that's the part kids tend to be bored by the fastest. This includes shots of the whole family, just the kids, kids and parents, kids and grandparents if applicable, and if we are lucky enough to get to meet the whole extended family, we like to get some of each nuclear family as well.

Then we move on to silly games and activities to capture truly candid shots of you loving and interacting. After this we move onto adult only and couple shots while the kids play, if applicable of course.

With young children, who don't have a very long attention span, we like to invite the family to go on an 'adventure day', take a walk and explore together while we take pictures. We let the littles take the lead, which encourages cooperation.

Newborn sessions are the best way to spend a day, who doesn't want to work/cuddle with an adorable baby? The big trick to newborn sessions is to have baby good and sleepy with a full tummy before we start.

The way we handle your newborn during their session is very minimal, I set up on the ground in natural light, which is gentle on your baby's eyes. If necessary, we use a softbox flash, which mimics natural light and only goes off when we take a picture to minimize baby's exposure to it.

When it comes to posing we like to keep it simple, we do not believe in unnatural poses like potato-stacking, and instead opt for gentler, more natural posing and wrapping that mimics sleep. We also like to incorporate the rest of the family; parents for some held and cuddled images, and older siblings are always welcome at the end to make for a full family affair.

Baby's safety is our number one priority, and our newborn photographers have invested in many courses to learn how to wrap baby properly, as well as being CPR certified.

The ideal age to do a newborn sessions is around 10-14 days old, although its never too late to capture breathtaking images of your wee babe that you'll cherish forever.

Yes! That is arguably the most important part of our job, and why we practice activity-led posing. We have an arsenal of games, prompts and activities to make you feel comfortable, and look great! Undoubtedly, the pictures you will love the most are the ones where you were in the moment, feeling comfortable and confident. A fun session is a successful session, and our goal is as much about providing you with a wonderful experience as it is about getting those wall-worthy images.

For regular sessions you will receive a link to your online gallery within 14 days. You can choose your favourites, and download your images directly from the gallery. You can also browse our print shop directly from your gallery!

For weddings, you can expect a sneak peak almost right away, and your completed gallery will be available in 4-6 weeks.

We try not to focus on the quantity of images you'll receive from your shoot, just the quality, because every session is very different. We always aim to curate a beautiful gallery that our clients will love, cherish, and put up on their walls for years to come.

For regular sessions, the length of time, and amount of people in your session will ultimately dictate the price and amount of pictures you receive, but we guarantee a minimum of 50 digital images.

For weddings each collection promises a different range in terms of the amount of images, but you can rest assured that we won't miss a single moment of your big day.

We are based in Ottawa-West, and yes we love to travel! If you want us to capture your story out of the area, it may require a travel fee, depending on where it takes place.

The short answer is of course you can! This is included in some sessions, and is an extra cost for others as it takes extra time, and requires more shots.
