The Top 10 Pictures You NEED To Take On Your Wedding Day
The ultimate list of your must-have shots to take on your wedding day, you won't want these images missing from your gallery. Read on to see some of our 'can't miss' wedding day moments.
1. Moody Aisle Dips
The classic aisle dip is definitely a must for every wedding day, but we are OBSESSED with the combining this ceremony-staple with the long exposure trend. You definitely don't want to miss this one in your wedding album, and we are also in-love with an enlarged artistic print in your living room!
2. A Moment Alone
First looks like this moment are obviously nothing new, but not everyone is onboard with this trend. For the more traditional bride, taking a moment after your ceremony just the two of you to exchange your own private vows is an amazing way to create the same moment of emotional connection as a classic first look.
3. Casual Formals
While it may be an oxymoron, gone are the days of super formal photos. We much prefer family portraits that look lived in, and true to the relationships with your loved ones. These are an absolute must on your big day, and we recommend replacing your family photos with some casual formals!
4. Sunset Portraits
If you have time on your big day to sneak away for a quick sunset-session, you totally should... and if you don't, you should make time! 5-10 minutes is often all it takes when that sun sinks low to get in a few quick shots to add to your collection! These sun-soaked moments not only create variety in your gallery, but it also means you can spend a little less time on couple's photos after the ceremony, and a little more time enjoying your cocktail hour.
5. The Wedding PARTY
An absolute must-have shot for any wedding day is of course the wedding party kiss. Besides, who better to celebrate with than your new spouse and those closest to you?
6. Late Night Coverage
Some of the most memorable, and least remembered parts of your day will be the night. While a lot of people shy away from having their photographers around too late into the evening, we think you should opt for some late night coverage. Just as important as the speeches during your reception, are the laughs shared afterwards. Don't skip out on keeping the cameras around a little later so you don't miss out on some truly memorable moments.
7. Champagne Showers
Every wedding gallery needs a champagne POP! Whether its along following a first look, or private vow reading, your wedding party, or with your entire guest list post-ceremony - either way you should carve out a little time to spray some bubbly!
8. Bridal Pampering
An absolute must for EVERY wedding gallery is a moment for the bride to be showered with love. This photo can happen in your robes or dresses, but either way its a staple image that really captures the love between bride and bridesmaids.
9. The Groom Toss
This one isn't that deep, but it is unbelievably fun - and not just for the groom! This is a shot we try to take with all of our grooms and their groomsmen, it makes for a great memory, both in frame and out!
10. Details
This is an obvious one, but its one we can never stress enough! Make sure to have a hard copy invitation (even a fake one), corsages/boutineers, your bouquet + extra flowers (your florist will likely give you scraps from your bouquet if you ask nicely), all of your jewelry/watches, shoes/socks, garter, perfume/cologne, favours, etc. all available while you're getting ready so your photographer can make the best of your detail shots!
